Biography


Lisa-Jane Smith, better known as LJ Smith, has been training in all facets of musical theatre since the age of four.

In 2000, she graduated from the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). During her time there she played a diverse range of characters including the sweet and very pregnant Lorna Farrell – Summer Rain; the tight-lipped Miss Jones – How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying; Clytmenestra – Iphegnia In Aulis; and finally, finding an affinity and love with comedic character roles whilst playing the riotous Alice Miller – My Favourite Year.

She also completed The Journey – a one-year intensive acting course at the Actor’s Centre in Sydney under the direction of Dean Carey.

After a guest role on the television series Water Rats, LJ set sail on two separate contracts with P&O Cruises as Lead Vocalist in six production shows. While on board, Lisa-Jane co-wrote and performed in two cabaret shows: Cabaret x2 and Together Again.

She was recently seen in the hit cabaret show, You & Me Makes 3, and in 2004 presented "Confessions of a Caffeine Addict" at several Sydney cabaret venues.

LJ is currently enjoying her fourth contract with Princess Cruises as Guest Entertainer, touring throughout the Carribean
